Arrrrgggghhhh!!!!

Well it seems that the newer versions of the Mylex drivers have problems with
certain configurations. Mostly they will install but not boot, but with a
preconfigured system this might occur.

One case was a server with 3 34G IBM drives. It set up fine on RAID5, but
when using he Mylex software to do RAID 0 as 3 logical drives of 34G each...
nothing (it should be norted that the Mylex controller was identifying a 4th
drive with less than 100Mb storage which appeared to be some sort of RAMdisk.

Changing this to a single RAID0 logical volume of 102G made it work
immediately. No RAMdisk appeared.

linux noauto

plus

install your own driver

might help as well

You can do this by F1 at the splash screen

Better yet is to stick with the 2.2 kernel til the 2.4 drivers are
stabilized. Boot from CD2 and pick an alternate image from kernel 2.2. From
there you _should_ be able to install for both kernel 2.2 and kernel 2.4

And let me know how it turns out.

A history of the RAID install with Reiserfs running is at
