Hmmm... I checked the description in the kernel docs for that option, and
it didn't mention it, but I might just try it anyway. Now that I've got a
good, bootable kernel I can play around a bit :-)

That'll be next to try, although I believe the only differences are
chipset-related, not much that would crank up the performance.

Don't suppose you've got a 264-motherboard just laying around needing a
home, do you? :-) There's a couple chips on eBay...
