I will go ahead and give this a try, but I will email you for configs if I
cannot get it working. I've used Linux for servers since 98, but only
recently for a workstation, and even more recently for a gaming station.
Thanks for the help, your email helped alot!

Craig there are many ways.......to get it working!
My son 6 of his friends and I frag with UT/StrikeForce every Saturday night
on Redhat boxes running monolithic custom compiles of course.....

These are A7V133 ASUS A7V266-E ASUS boards compiled with just nics/sound/agp
GF2 go, ultra/ ti models
I then don't have to load any modules and I can compile the src.rpms for NVIDIA

If you want I will email my X/ UT/ STrikeforce configs........

Yes Quake3 runs great too, I have seen none of these lockups everyone has
talked about.....
I don't like playing just Q3 it needs some military mods for it.....SF/UT is like
CS......but you can use the UT-bots and they are good enough for small lan games..

If you don't compile like I do then down load the NVIDIA rpms from
http://www.nvidia.com/drivers
I personally would go with the source even for a stock kernel and compile them...
rpm --rebuild --target i686 NVIDIA_kernelxxxx.src.rpm this my command-line on each box
Then install them from rpm -Uvh /usr/src/redhat/RPMS/i686/NVIDIA_*
Anyway once the rpms are installed go to your X-config
/etc/X11/XF86Config-4
in the modules section add Load "glx"
go down to the card section and change the driver from "nv" > "nvidia"

then install the game make sure it calls the right renderer and your set guy...

If you want those say so and I will send my configs..........and of course answer how easy
it is to get it up and running STRIKEFORCE is a cool mod.....

In the beginning there was data. The data was without form and
null, and darkness was upon the face of the console; and the Spirit of
IBM was moving over the face of the market. And DEC said, "Let there
be registers"; and there were registers. And DEC saw that they
carried; and DEC separated the data from the instructions. DEC called
the data Stack, and the instructions they called Code. And there was
evening and there was morning, one interrupt.
