Another interesting bill was passed by Congress recently called CISPA,
the "Cyber Intelligence Sharing and Protection Act". Among other
things, it gives "cybersecurity providers" (basically, private
security organizations working for corporations) the ability to freely
give personal information about employees, and any other data they
want, to the Feds, without any criminal liabilities. (Except in
certain very unlikely circumstances.)

Supposedly Obama promised to veto it... but coming from the guy who
signed ACTA in secret, I'm keeping an eye open.

Anyway, you can make your own assessment:

Brief rant:

I'm getting REALLY tired of seeing the word "cyber" in all these
stupid bills popping up. I think the next I see the words "cyber
threat" or "cyber security" or "cyber terrorism" in a bill, I'm going
to rip out my monitor and throw it through my window. For heaven's
sake, we don't live in the matrix... if you are going to make
technology laws, talk about real things like servers, ISPs, spammers,
DOS attacks, and so forth, and stop using lame sci-fi terminology that
can be broadly interpreted to mean just about anything.
