Costco has three versions of the 'One', 9,10,12". I'd personally lean
toward the 12" as it's screen support 1366x768 and the keyboard is quite
nice. I was seriously interested in these when my laptop died; I tried
several, but eventually bought another true laptop as I couldn't do
without the power. There is also the gateway version of the One called
the LT1303 with an athlon64 and decent video card, but it was the
buggiest PC I've tried using in 10 years.

and they seem to be good. They all run XP but I'm sure linux will run
great on em. Down side to netbooks is no cdrom. The new style Aspire One
keyboard is great. Costco is probably the best price locally. I can't
really comment on the noise level because the only time I work with them
is in my office and anything seems quieter then the servers and switches
I have in my office.
