Agreed. I'm pretty bullish on IBMs, myself, they're onboard diagnostics
(RSA) and chipkill memory are fantastic. Look at the x3400 series, it's a
tower server like the Dell and in the same price range.

Given the price why would you every buy an Xserve unless you really want to
run OSX? I don't get that. If you're planning on running Linux I don't see
Apple as a cost-effective option. Of course, I've never seriously
considered them either, so feel free to educate me.
