Why not just use FreeBSD as the server? The documentation is amazing
(FreeBSD handbook), the system is stable as can be, and installing
software is as easy as it is in gentoo or debian ("portinstall foo" or
"pkg_add -r foo", depending).

And, you get to say you use FreeBSD and sound all hardcore.
