No argument there. Portage is great, but it does 'break' things every
now and then. There is usually a fix if you search around online, but
having a broken server, even for 15 minutes, can be a big problem. I
had to make a choice on this issue a year or so ago on a Samba server.
While Gentoo provides easy updates, I wasn't comfortable with the risks
that portage brings with it. On my desktop at home, it's fine, but I
still am hesitant at using it on a production server.
