Hey Mike--no problem!

It's still at the UAA Library, we're just migrating to a better box.

The new server was one that I spec'd out before I moved to ACS, and it was
purchased through Hard Data, LTD. (http://www.harddata.com). They were
able to give us the system for about $6,000, which was about half what
other vendors wanted. The other quotes I got were from Penguin Computing,
and Government Computer sales in Fairbanks.

The server is a 3u chassis with 16 250GB SATA drives, 1GB ram, and a pair
of 2.4GHz Xeons. It's running Red Hat 9. All 16 of the drives are
configured for a single raid 5 volume using 15 drives and 1 hot spare.
We're using LVM to manage filesystem sizes. I considered using xfs for
the filesystems but ended up going with ext3 with the "data=writeback"
mount option. (sorry Arthur!) ;-)
