I agree, I have a 98SE that I use for games at home. This is a big
component and w/o it, it's the stumbling block.

However, it's a chicken/egg thing. Game companies will tend to write games
for the largest market. A change of market occured when IBM PCs became more
numerous than Apples. Then just about every game was written for Apple
boxes, then ported to IBM, maybe. A year later (or so) it had switched.
Now most games never make it to the Apple market.

The first step is to get Linux on business desk tops. Mom & pop will then
have to have linux box at home. Then there'll be a big enough market that
the game companies will switch to Linux then port. When they do, I'll bet
they never go back to windows because of the stability.

Well i think Linux is missing a big component for our younger audience.
GAMES, Microsoft still as a beter platform for RPG games and MOMRPG games.
untill Linux finds a way to support these, wWindos will aways have a place
in my house(unfortunatley)
