Welcome Matthew. Several people on the list can hook you up with a
distro. I personally have the latest versions of Mandrake, SuSE, and
RedHat. Others also have these, and/or Debian, Slackware, Gentoo, etc.
If you have never ran Linux before, Mandrake is probably a good starting
distro to try.
If you go to aklug.org, there is the calendar, and then in there if you
click on either the Monthly meeting or the Friday night get-togethers,
it has directions on how to get there. I don't think the meeting places
are too far from a bus stop..
