You will need to install Java first, at least the runtime environment. I
use the one from Sun, you can get it from http://java.sun.com. Click on
the 'j2se' link. They have how-tos there on getting it installed.

Java isn't included with the Linux Distro because in licensing issues.

You will then need to get the plugin into the 'netscape/plugins'
directory.

  1) log in as 'root'
  2) cd /usr/lib/netscape/plugins
  3) ln -s /lib/java/j2[version]/plugin/i386/ns4[or ns600 or
ns610]/libjavplugin[_oji]140.so depending on your version of Netscape.

You can do the same with Mozilla, but it will be
'/usr/lib/mozilla-[version]/plugins' and ns600.

On your dual-boot problem, I think the easiest way short of
re-installing would be to use 'loadlin'. You can find instructions here:

http://www.europe.redhat.com/documentation/mini-HOWTO/Loadlin+Win95-98-ME.php3

Have fun,
