Kate,
 As well, welcome to the list.. According to the usage requirements of
the Thawte security certificate, yes you are required to have one per
domain. Typically, these are downloaded from Thawte as individual .key
files or .crt files. Then the services are set up on the server pointing
to them. But each file will stipulate a domain name and other important
information. I can say however, the difference between
support@example.com and www.example.com are not the far, and if your
users don't mind (and aren't using Netscape on a Mac) you can get along
just fine.

  If you have any questions regarding your Thawte certificates, you are
welcome to forward them to the Outland Domain Group at
support@outlander.us as they are a Thawte reseller.

His humble servant,

Hi there. Your presence at the IT con (and Chris' Samba presentation)
spurred=20
my subscription to your fine group. Onward... =20

I want to make very sure that I don't give Thawte more than they need
and so am=20
requesting the advice of someone who has done what I'm about to do
before. =20
I've got one main domain (say, www.mydomain.com) and a subsidiary
(virtual)
domain (other.mydomain.com) running. I am required to have two unique
site=20
certs, one per domain, in order to run secure directories on each
domain, yes?

Thanks,
Kate
