You didn't mention what CatOS/IOS is running on the switch you're
configuring is, but most of the routers / switches I've been in require
this:

Router(config)#service timestamp debug datetime msec
Router(config)#service timestamp log datetime msec

this will cause the logs to show a date / time for the events, as opposed
to time period since last reload.

Exceptions that pop to mind are Cat19xx, and possibly 29xx.

Recommend setting up a TAC account, if possible.
