Can you do the basic install with just one nic card then remove the
video card and set up the other nic card using the admin setup over the
lan?
I havn't used smoothwall in a while, but it seems like it might work if
you're using the same cards for internal and external so that you don't
need to add more drivers. You might need to tell it you're using and
external modem on the serial ports for the install, then use the lan
administration to change it.
