Set up you mail server to require authenication befor it relays mail . use
SMTP AUTH it requires that you download and install a libary that sendmail
uses to setup authenication you can get the instructions at :
http://www.sendmail.org/-ca/email/auth.html.

I did clients machine a few months ago who was having the same problem ,
install this stuff make a few entries in your config files restart sendmail
and the problems gone.
