Greetings,

Win2000-Pro will co-exist without issue on the same hardrive with Linux.
I am typing this in Win2000 now and the lilo is on the MBR of this disk.
You may need to have a mentor to overcome some initial questions. I usually
recommend this for first time users.

It is important to have the latest copy of whichever distro you are trying
out.
This would include the latest version of lilo and it overcomes some past
problems.

If it's 8.1 Mandrake, the recommended install will take you through the
needed steps.

As always, regardless of the OS, back up your sensitive data and protect
your self
from glitches. Have Fun!

Best Regards
/Dee

I thought he might get some more replies if his message went out on the
main list. Can anyone give him a hand?

Thanks,
Mike

Hello I was wondering if you could give me some advice. I have a Compaq computer with a 20GB hard drive. My current Os is Windows 2000 Pro. I would like to create a dual boot system with my current OS, and Linux Mandrake. I am only finding limited info on the net. I have never used Linux before. I am looking to create a study environment at home to learn Linux. Any information you could provide would be appreciated. THANKS!!
