Hope this is appropriate to share through this channel. I work with the
Systems Integration Branch of the National Weather Service in Anchorage,
Alaska (downtown federal building) and am looking for two hires to fill the
roles of Linux SysAdmins. The jobs opened today and are at the GS-12 level
open to federal and civilian applicants.

Here is the information:

We have vacancies in the Anchorage Systems Integration Branch of the NWS
Alaska Region Headquarters for two GS-12, 2210 series Linux System
Administrators. Duties include but are not limited to the following:

1) Monitors and provides system administration of data flow and web
services to meet operational and organizational needs, as well as
installing, configuring, modifying, maintaining and troubleshooting
existing scripts and software in a Linux environment.

2) Maintains security baselines for Linux desktops, workstations and
servers to meet FISMA compliance for IT security.

3) Writes and maintains dataflow and hardware documentation; installs new
or modified software releases and updates; and evaluates new software
applications and new systems and programming technologies.

4) Plans, analyzes designs, and develops information systems to meet
organizational and user needs. Provides training to IT staff on system
configurations and maintenance.

Salary Range: $82,816.00 to $107,666.00 / Per Year
