AFAIKT, 'UpUbuntu' is the first Linux distro/packager to offer AOO. Apache
says 'many' Linux distros are getting onboard, time will tell,

I hear a lot of negative responses to the issue of packaging AOO for Linux. I use
AOO because LO is currently broken for my 10 years worth of document creation,
while AOO presents my docs exactly as created 10 years ago. I use 'currently'
because LO is changing way to fast to be taken serious as an stable office suite,
why updates office suites every few months? The TDF sure likes to congratulate
themselves.

LO & AOO are not the same functionally. For my use, that is a good thing. IBM is
donating their version of OO to Apache, Lotus Symphony , There have been several
forks for quite a few years. Novell promoted go-office which Ubuntu, Debian and
maybe Fedora used as a base for their versions of OO, and is the code base for
LO.
