[aklug] OT: need solder geek help

Looking for a solder geek. I don't have the tools or the skills, or know
where to start with this. It seems like a simple task though, so maybe I
should just man up and figure out how to do this all on my own. Whats the
worst I could do? Ruin some components, I suppose.
Problem is that the console clock in my subaru is dead, and I kinda want it
to work. This is what the project looks like:

Or maybe I am thinking about this all wrong. Maybe I should be thinking of
this as an opportunity to replace the clock with something else entirely,
some arduino-driven open source backed mod. I'm open to suggestions.
