I may be showing my ignorance regarding LiveCDs (it has been a while since I
created a bootable CD), why not combine a few Live CDs into one DVD which
also has copies of VirtualBox for Windows, OS X, and Linux.
This would allow people to try linux "side by side" with their current OS as
well as provide a few different distros to try. If someone gets to the point
that they are comfortable switching to a Linux distro, they then have the
option of installing their old OS in VirutalBox (which they are already used
to using) as a security blanket.

I suggest VirtualBox over Parallels or VMware due to VirtualBox being
available as an open source package and over Qemu due to it's more refined
interface and better support for other platforms.
