I'm still on 32 bit Ubuntu. Too afraid 64 won't work for me. Lots of
people use 64 bit Ubuntu though.

You won't see any faster speeds unless you use a math intensive
application. Open Office is just as fast in 64 bit as it is in 32 bit.
