It could be a memory thing. Seems like you should be able to break into
the boot sequence and boot single-user (if you can even get that far?)

First, you might consider putting another hard drive in and doing
another basic install. This would quickly rule out a variety of
hardware issues. If that doesn't work, since it's NetBSD on MIPS,
popping it into another system may be tricky. You can borrow my RaQ if
you'd like.
