Why don't you just put a couple of CDs in your safe deposit box. One CD will be the current version of Ubuntu. The other CD would contain the current decryption tools you need. Then no matter how the computer hardware and software changes in the future. You will be able to get your data back. If nothing else works. Then you can just install Ubuntu and the decryption tools under an I386 emulator.
