I believe that this is a configuration option in Ecartis.

When the list re-sends the e-mail, it can (and does) change headers.
One of those changes is setting "reply-to" for the message.

For example IIRC both AKLUG and Juneau-LUG are Ecartis lists. AKLUG is
set to reply to the original sender, Juneau-LUG is set to reply to the
list.

(This discussion has come up multiple times on AKLUG, and like Jim I
can't remember the reason it's set that way either.)

There is actually no way of changing the fact that all the list does is
keep
an archive of the email, and then forward the email, using the senders
address as the sender field. However there might be a way to go through
the
program and change the sender, because I do know there are some mail
clients, that allow you to change the sender field. Ours either cannot
change or whoever set it up left it as default, which would be the
sender
being equal to the sender or originally sent the email.
