In order to make a friends clearwire connection work well from her
house in Nunaka Valley, where she could only get 1-3 bars at best
downstairs I purchased a Linksys WRT54G wireless router and put it
and the clearwire modem up in her attic. It wasn't perfect but it was
way better than it was downstairs, even though she has a metal roof
that the signal had to shoot through.
Just in the last month or so they turned up the cell tower at the
corner of Boniface and Debarr and by adjusting her clearwire modem
now I can get a perfect 5 bars in a wide range of positions in her
attic. Good stuff.
