Well I just spent all weekend, but here it is 2:00 Monday morning and
I FINALLY was successful. I finally settled on Gentoo and a 2.4.26
kernel, and all appears to be working fine!!!

Jim - Thank you very much for your help Friday night. I was able to
trace part of my problem to having all the jumpers set on cable
select. When I reset them all to master/slave, all the drives were
detected.

Damien - I tired FreeBSD ALL day Saturday literally. Vinum just
wouldn't co-operate. Sorry!

Oh yeah... here's a screen shot I took of the mounted RAID5 file
