I figured out what I was doing wrong in the cron entry. I was required
to use the full path of the executable.

I used:

*/5 * * * * /sbin/service iptables stop

This will reset the firewall every five minutes. Now I can make any
mistake I want and wait five minutes before I have to fix it.
