Okay, I've found that the LiveCD-install software works great, installed
the LiveCD to HDD without problems.
Then I opened the "Mission Control Center" (which I really like) but it
will not launch synaptic....
I did work from the command line using apt-get and installed several
tools. I noticed as you mentioned that it's .rpm based. The
sources.list points to only one source (Tex's). I'm curious to see what
breaks if I change sources....

Very nice interface! Happy to see fluxbox installed along with Gnome
and KDE. First time I previewed the distro I thought.....move over
Zandros....

Thanks for the tip on this distro Russ. I'm finding motivation to start
putting together my own distro!
