Package management is via synaptic, which is a graphical front-end for apt.
However, the actual file format for packages is .rpm. urpmi is very similar
in functionality to apt, and synaptic is extremely easy to use.

Also, I said in my email yesterday that there was a new version out.
Apparently, Tex has not yet released the final version of Preview 6, as there
are still some major show-stoppers. I don't know the details, but I'm sure
they're on the forums at pclinuxonline.com.
