I think there is growing demand for Linux skills in Anchorage. For example,
I work at Denali Alaskan FCU and we just installed a Red Hat Enterprise
Server. I am moving all four of our websites from a web hosting company to
in-house next week. I recommended Red Hat Enterprise Linux because I felt
with it's name recognition it was the only Linux distro they would even
consider. It took me 5 years but I finally talked them into it. Now they
are talking about using RH for other tasks in the future. Maybe I'll even
get some training.
