Aklug does not have 501(c)(3) status at this time. It will happen
sometime in the near future, though for right now.. we can't do it on
our own.

I think it would be a good idea for Aklug to have a 'plan' for whether
or not we want to deal with used computers. A SIG to deal with the
hardware aquisition,, storage, Linux installations ..etc. The Friday
night group has done this to a certain degree but we operate through the
good graces of our host, currently 9Star.

One thing to remember is most used computer hardware is hazardous waste
and must be disposed of properly..i.e. it costs money. This is one
reason organizations are willing to give away hardware to a non-profit.
Putting restrictions on donations to a non-profit don't make alot of
sense given the status of a non-profit and the fact that giver is
savings the cost of disposal.
