I look at it differently. Novell has the marketing muscle and resources to push Linux to new heights. They bought Ximian and it hasn't gone away. I think Novell is our best chance to compete with Microsoft. One thing I'm curious about is since Ximian uses Gnome and SuSE uses KDE which will prevail in their distros. Will they continue to use both? Also, what will happen to XD2? Will Sun still use SuSE for their Java Desktop? It leaves lots of questions unanswered.
