I Currently use DSL and just got done setting up a Clients new Linux box
on a DSL. This was done (both at home and at the clients using Mandrake
9.1 PLF Distro)

At home it went fine setup the DSL during the install....

Set up Clients machine here then deployed it.... 4 hours later I had the
DSL up (power outage here in valley)

Cable modem is easier yes...
But on MTA the SDSL is nice for a low level server

Also where we are located we can get DSL but no cable. I have used both
since 1997 and have found the DSL to be better for my and my clients
needs for limited access servers for small groups (email, streaming
security video systems, Small web and ftp).

My main prob with the cable modem system is GCI has NEVER responded to
any complaints about KNOWN Crackers trying to get into systems even when
the logs show REPEATED intrusion attempts from the same host ON their
system, Plus if you have a few warez pups on the same segment as you and
watch your bandwidth DIE. 3:00 AM full speed 7:00 am 1/4 speed
downloading a Distro.

Also GCI tech support? Whats that?
