Not having read the article, I can only comment on the quote, and I hate to
tell you, I agree with it 100%.

Let's be honest: There's a lot about work ethics, team work, attention to
detail, and so on, that improve dramatically as one matures (of course, I have
to take other's words, since I'm still waiting to mature ;-).

While I'm still a ways under 40 I can certainly vouch personally that I'm
better rounded and improved as person than I was even a few years ago. Hell,
my daughter isn't even two years old and yet she's taught me a *ton* about
being more patient. The scary thought is that my lessons have only just
begun.

In other words: how new/old the technology is is irrelevant to the
discussion. I'll put money on the 40+ person when it comes to being a better
project manager, team player, conscientious and dedicated employee every time.
In general, it's a safer bet.

You can't discount life experience. As the old adage goes: "I wish that I
knew then what I know now. . ."
