I've been using KDevelop (www.kdevelop.org), which comes with SuSE, to do=
 some=20
C stuff (non-GUI). When you create a new project, it gives you a choice o=
f=20
developing apps for KDE, Gnome, Qt, or 'terminal' C and C++. I've only u=
sed=20
'terminal', but it looks like the GUI options take care of a lot of=20
grunt-work building the framework.=20
