I don't know what model of CD changer we're talking about, but the
Torisan (also sold as a Sony) 3 CD changer that you might find in a
Gateway machine at state surplus is listed in ide-cd.c in the kernel
drivers. Unfortunately it looks like it is hard coded to use the top
CD only. From what newsgroups I've seen, that's a common complaint -
people can only use one CD.

I don't use mine at all, since it is so touchy about CDs. If there is
much silkscreening or printing on the CD at all, it vibrates so badly
that it can't read it. Repeatedly ejecting and re-inserting the
cartridge sometimes fixes it, until you accidentally bump the desk or
breathe too hard.
