Heathens all!

SquirrelMail is what I would recommend. It's cleaner and more stable
than Twig or Nocc. Plus, it has the added benifit of being able
to use plug-ins, like anti-spam (orbs-style or bayesian), calendaring (and I
mean receiving calendar info
from MSEXch and populating your local calendar), and tons of other great
features.

of course, pine over ssh works too.. :-)
