The difference isn't as radical on the UNIX platform as it is on the Windows
platform, so the deciding factor may be which modules can you live without.
Not everything has been updated to work with 2.x. Personally, I haven't seen
a compelling reason to upgrade yet, especially with Linux's rather poor
threading support on SMP machines.
