Although that didn't solve it...it gave me an idea of what was wrong.

When setting up an SMB printer you must put the entire share name in the
share box. So the real share name is laser2, however, since the smb print
share is on a box called pc1, what needed to be entered into the box was:

\\pc1\laser2

You must include the backslashes (\) as well. Also it requires the IP
address of the SMB print server.

In my case anyone can print to these printers so I didn't need to fill out
the username and password portions of the box.
