OK that was bothering me so I had to come home for lunch and check. I read
through my log and you're right Chris I didn't apt-get install pine. I
downloaded the binary from UW:

ftp://ftp.cac.washington.edu/pine/unix-bin/

Save the pine-bin.linux file as /usr/bin/pine, check the permissions and
you're set (at least on my i386 boxes you are).

I don't have a log for the PPC box - it was a testing box and I changed it
too often for a written log to mean much, and all of the different
iterations of Debian run together in my memory. There is no .deb file on
the box although /usr/bin/pine is there.

Cheers,

James
