Mike,
you might try ping -a to get the domain then check the domain
records or
you might find the info at www.arin.net
hth
Bob Swift

btw if you have a win machine you could try NEOTRACE (excellent!!)

I am trying to find out what ISP is providing an IP address. What is the
best way to do it?

When I try whois it just returns host not found.

What is a better way of doing this?

Mike
