You were correct - Thanks.
Apperantly moving the image I was using for wallpaper was enough to
break Nautilus. Seems like it should just given me an error message and
allowed me to rectify the situation, not just go away with even saying
goodbye.
Fixing it was easy. I just ran Nautilus from the command line, fixed the
pointer and everything was back to normal.
