That should also be a caution against buying, for any linux, a combination
drive that puts CDRW with DVD, at least until someone rewrites the ide-scsi
module.

I have a CDRW/DVD combo drive in my laptop running SuSE 7.3 and I have no problems recording cd's or playing dvds.
