[aklug] Postfix issues with /var/spool/postfix/etc/resolv.conf

I'm using ubuntu 14.04 on a Mac Mini with 8 GB of Ram

uname output is
Linux linus 3.16.0-53-generic #72~14.04.1-Ubuntu SMP Fri Nov 6
18:17:23 UTC 2015 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux

postfix is version 2.11.0 and is an apt install.

I've found that postfix was failing with messages like
"Name service error for name" after I rebooted. I have found that
after reboot, /var/spool/postfix/etc/resolv.conf is empty except for
comments.
(I.E. - no nameserver or search domain)

After some research I found this:
http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=2213546

and this :
http://serverfault.com/questions/661621/why-do-i-have-to-manually-copy-etc-services-and-etc-resolv-conf-into-var-spoo
which appears to offer a long-term remedy.

I would welcome additional comments on the mv'ing of rc files - from
the second link.

thanks
