I remember a half dozen years back or so when Linux Journal printed a
series on SPF. After that, adoption jumped quite a bit. Not as much as
would be nice, but a bit of publicity really helped.
The demise of print media is really a shame; I don't have any numbers
but my gut tells me that it was a great way to get the word out on
specific technologies. The web is a fast/cheap way to do it, but I
don't think it's as focused. But who knows, maybe this will get some
traction and be widely adopted in time...
