oh, as with everything else Solaris it’s not CALLED systemd… but it’s systemd none the less.

does away with /etc/init and /etc/rc.X
wraps the services up in a DB
uses xml files to manage the startup scripts and configurations
has hierarchal service dependancies.
the management command is svcadm
the configuration command is svccfg

if it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it’s a duck.
