Kidding aside, I suspect that much of the Alaska expansion was probably
just a beefing up of the 381st Intelligence Squadron at JBER. They've been
"Doing Business As" the Air Force 6981st/381st up here since the 1950s, so
it's not huge news in some ways. Though I also ready that they're retiring
the AN/FLR-9 "Elephant Cage" out there next year or so -- one of the last
ones still operating in the world.
