So, the problem was I had two SMTP daemons running: One on
mx.weller-fahy.com:25 which *only* accepts email to my domains, the other on
mx.weller-fahy.com:587 which *only* accepts encrypted and authenticated
submission of email... neither of those accept email from local daemons
to outside domains (oops)! I just setup a third daemon which *only*
accepts from the localhost, and will relay to external domains, so
subscribe away!

I just successfully subscribed using a gmail account, and then
unsubscribed using the same account, so the list is verifiably fixed.
