I run both my LAN and PPPoE connections on the same ethernet port. Also,
you can put multiple IP's on a single port.

ifconfig eth0 10.1.1.1
ifconfig eth0:2 10.2.1.1
ifconfig eth0:3 10.3.1.1
etc.
